Center for Engineering Practice

A place for developing practical adaptability for learning and employment

The center supports students' experimental and practical training, production and maintenance of equipment necessary for experiments and training, and educational research activities. It also takes part in industry-academic cooperation through technical cooperation with external organizations or companies. In the 200 square meters of indoor area, it has various cutting-edge equipment including a CNC lathe.

Lifelong Education Center

Learning never stops!

The center improves the quality of life of community residents through providing educational opportunities and expands KIT' s contribution to the community by presenting workers with profesional technical education. It offers several opportunities of learning by running various programs with the budget support from local governments including Gumi.

Center for Scientific Instruments

Activation of cooperation among education, research, industry and college

The center primarily aims to improve college education and research environment by operating expensive equipment with high common use among education and research equipment required by undergraduates, research institutes, and industries. It also contributes to the development of community companies by establishing an industry-academy collaborative research system

Center for Teaching and Learning

For better teaching and learning

The center supports professors and students to perform optimal teaching and learning activities in the fast-changing educational environment. As for teaching support, the center provide workshops and consulting for expanding effective or new teaching methods; as for learning, it contributes to enhancing students' capabilities by developing and operating programs such as special lectures of strategies for students, learning consulting, and learning communities.

Innovation Center for Engineering Education

Fostering global talent of engineering

The center performs engineering education such as the project to support fostering creative convergence talent of engineering, in order to nurture innovative talent through innovation of engineering education, leading the new industry and contributing to industry in the future. It establishes and maintains the engineering education accreditation system according to the standards of the Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea (ABEEK), contributing to ensuring internal stability of engineering education

Science Education Center for the Gifted

Fostering science talents who dream the future

The center was established with the support of Gumi City, in order to find gifted persons in math and science and to nurture them into creative, high-tech scientists who can create and utilize new knowledge through education that fits their individual capabili-ties. It educates and supports potential scientists who can contribute to the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution for them to develop their knowledge and abilities and find out their identities as scientists.

Newspaper & Broadcasting Center

Sounds of Kumoh People

  • Broadcasting : The center broadcasts a regular program for lunch time (1:00 to 1:40 pm) every day during a semester. Year-round events include open studio, special programs for clubs, and video broadcasting festival.
  • Newspaper : The center issues the monthly KIT newspaper in order to gather the students' opinions, create a healthy college culture and academic atmosphere, and to contribute to improvement of the KIT members in sophistication and personality.

International Program & Language Education Center

We foster Kumoh People with global senses and international competitiveness

To foster talent with broad perspectives to understand the world and in-depth insight, the center establishes sisterhood relation-ships with 114 universities in 36 countries to support overseas and language training. It also strives to cultivate global talents with an international perspectives and open mind by attracting excellent overseas talent to strengthen KIT' s competitiveness and promoting exchange between KIT and foreign students.

LINC+ Project Group

Mutual growth with community industry-academic cooperation

The LINC + project, a follow-up project of the LINC project for establishing creative economic ecosystem and activating industry-academic cooperation, supports innovation of local community and local industries through strengthening industry-academic cooperation and fosters talent customized to industrial demands with superior site adaptability. Establishing a vision for "coexistence with community through sustainable industry-academic cooperation," the group strives to actualize a college with community by strengthening cooperation between research institutes and companies and supporting industry-academy cooperation for technology development, solving community problems, and presenting customized support for corporations.

Institute for Startup

We support students' startup and startup business

The institute consists of the Entrepreneurship Center, supporting students' start-up and finding startup clubs, and the Business Incubation Center, supporting startup businesses (would-be startup people). It supports startups based on relevant technologies such as information and communications, machinery, electronics, materials, chemicals, services, presents startup space, helps acquire start-up funds, and provides administrative support on management, technology, and tax related to startup.

Entrepreneurship Center

A guide for successful startup

The center takes the lead in popularization of on-campus startup education by establishing startup-friendly bachelor's degree system, EnBiz startup track courses, startup related majors, and global marketer courses. It strives to foster prepared startup talents by operating a system of four-staged, customized startup support and developing startup clubs.

Business Incubation Center

We support initial startup businesses

The center was established in 1999 to support initial startup businesses that have core technologies but are having difficulties securing a workplace or facilities. It lets those businesses move into the center so that they can use personal or common workplaces inexpensively. It also presents comprehensive startup support of general-purpose equipment and workplace workplaces develop technology and of management, tax, technical guidance, and funding.
